AndroidMic is available for multiple platforms. Download the PC application for your operating system and the Android APK for your phone. All downloads are free and open-source.
Windows
Download the Windows installer for Windows 10 and later
Note: Windows Defender may flag the app. This is a false positive. You can report it to Microsoft.
macOS
Download the macOS application for Intel and Apple Silicon
Note: Run this command after installation:
xattr -c /Applications/AndroidMic.app
Linux
Download the Linux binary for various distributions
Note: You may need to configure udev for USB permissions.
Android
Download the Android APK for your phone
Note: Enable "Install from unknown sources" in your Android settings.

PC Requirements

- USB debugging enabled (for USB ADB method)
Installation Instructions
Windows Installation
- Download the Windows installer from the releases page
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
- If Windows Defender flags the app, click "More info" and then "Run anyway"
- Consider reporting the false positive to Microsoft
macOS Installation
- Download the macOS application
- Open the downloaded DMG file
- Drag AndroidMic.app to your Applications folder
- Open Terminal and run:
xattr -c /Applications/AndroidMic.app - Launch the app from Applications
Linux Installation
- Download the Linux binary for your architecture
- Make it executable:
chmod +x AndroidMic - For USB support, configure udev rules (see guide page)
- Run the application
Android Installation
- Download the APK file
- Enable "Install from unknown sources" in Android settings
- Open the downloaded APK file
- Tap "Install" when prompted
- Grant microphone and notification permissions when requested
